Martlesham shipping company grows its team as business booms

Martlesham-based shipping company, Globex Freight Management, is proudly announcing its latest team member.

Ian Wilding joined the team on 4th June as a Warehouse Operative, following a significant rise in the demand for the warehousing arm of the business.

Formerly based in Parker Avenue in Felixstowe, the team launched its warehousing facility in April last year, offering  7000 sq ft of warehousing space for client goods. Directors Andy Wilding and Shaun Rudduck made the decision to bring the service in-house, to provide a better service to customers than was being offered by third parties.

Demand for warehousing has steadily increased over the last 12 months, so Ian joined the team to help handle the running of the warehouse alongside colleague, Nick who manages the warehouse side of the business.  Ian is from Ipswich and spent years as a service engineer, maintaining fork lift truck equipment.

The team is now six strong, with Ian, Nick, Carl, Shaun, Andy and Kim all based in the Martlesham office, adjoining the warehouse.  Having achieved Authorised Economic Operator status (AEO) in May 2011, Globex provides trusted point to point shipping services to a diverse range of clients.

Managing Director Andy Wilding said, “Opening the warehouse last year was a big move for us but something we felt was right – giving us complete control of our client’s cargo.

“I’m delighted to say that demand for this side of our businesses is continuing to grow, and we’re very happy to have Ian on board to help us handle this area of our work.  We’re confident that with our attention to detail and thorough knowledge of the industry from our years of experience, we will continue to be the trusted shipping partner for businesses from a range of industries.”
